Dollar Drizzle Dayz

Dollar Drizzle Dayz is a shenanigan from Sentry and Syntax to promote the Open Source Pledge, in partnership with Drizzle, Prettier, and SolidStart.

Here's where it started.

$1/mo to Open Source lfg

The Point

Open Source maintainers need paid.

Your company should join the Open Source Pledge, but even if you don't you should at least give $1/mo to your Open Source dependencies.

How To

It's way too hard, tbh. Like, waaaaay too hard. Maybe that explains something?

GitHub Sponsors

  1. Visit https://github.com/sponsors/explore.
  2. "Explore as" [your org] ... "Apply"
  3. "Download your results as a CSV"
  4. Check your primary GitHub email for the CSV attachment.
  5. Run this script to create import files.
  6. Visit https://github.com/sponsors/bulk-sponsorships/import/new?frequency=recurring.
  7. "Sponsor as" [your org]
  8. "Choose file"
  9. Choose the first import file.
  10. You will almost certainly get an error message about minimums. Copy and paste the data from the error message to [your-org]-minimums.csv.
  11. Repeat for all import files in order to fully populate [your-org]-minimums.csv.
  12. Rerun the script to create import files without non-participating maintainers.
  13. Upload the new import files and "Continue to checkout" and "Sponsor NN maintainers" for each.
  14. Phew! ๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ
